The word ‘dough’ in this buffet’s title refers to its flexible and malleable qualities, but also references the redolent smell of dough, evoking childhood memories.
This item of furniture brings timelessness, simplicity, and familiarity to mind.
One of my strongest childhood memories is of my mother’s buffet, brownish-black under layer upon layer of varnish, a testament to repeated attempts to revamp it.
It was crooked, giving way under the weight of years passed and we were in constant fear of it breaking in two at any moment.
For this reason, I designed this buffet broken in two from the start.
